U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett, who will face the Senate Judiciary Committee on Oct. 12, has a firm opinion of the Senate confirmation process: “a very tough, toxic situation.”

Barrett briefly reflected on that process a year ago in a conversation with University of Notre Dame law students, moderated by professor Vincent Munoz and joined by another potential Trump Supreme Court candidate, Judge Amul Thapar of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
