A.Y. Strauss in Roseland announced that Kory Ann Ferro, previously with Cohn Lifland Pearlman Herrmann & Knopf, joined the firm as an associate in the commercial litigation group. Aaron Y. Strauss, managing partner of the firm, said in a statement that Ferro “has an extensive litigation background representing lending institutions in foreclosure proceedings and collections actions,” and is ”an empathetic advisor who takes a meticulous approach to preparation and case management, and is determined to obtain the best possible outcome for her clients.” Kelly M. Purcaro, co-chair of the commercial litigation group, added: “I have had the pleasure of knowing Kory Ann as a colleague for several years, and I am delighted to have her join our team at A.Y. Strauss.” Ferro earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School-Newark in 2013, and her B.A. from Temple University in 2008. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York. She is a member of the New Jersey State and Bergen County bar associations. She clerked for Appellate Division Judge Margaret M. Hayden. During law school, Ferro received the Justice Henry Ackerson Jr. Prize for distinction in legal skills, and the Anthony Englebrecht Prize for the highest grade-point average during the final year of law school. She served as managing editor of the Rutgers Law Review, and participated in the Child Advocacy Clinic, the Urban Legal Clinic, and the Domestic Violence Advocacy Project. She also served as an executive member of the Moot Court Board; justice of the Phi Alpha Delta Mock Trial Team, which placed first in a national competition; and member of the Rutgers National Mock Trial Team, which appeared in the national trial competition finals.

McOmber McOmber & Luber welcomed new associate Lauren M. Hill, who will practice in the Red Bank office and litigate all aspects of plaintiffs employment cases in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including whistleblower, discrimination, hostile work environment and sexual harassment cases. She previously clerked in the firm’s Marlton office during law school. She also worked as a judicial extern for U.S. District Judge Wendy Beetlestone of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and New Jersey Appellate Division Judge Michael J. Haas. Upon graduation, Hill clerked for Haas for the 2019-20 term, drafting and editing bench memoranda and opinions for the court. Hill received B.S. and B.A. degrees from The College of New Jersey in 2016, and her J.D. from Rutgers Law School in Camden.
