Cole Schotz Softball Game Raises Money for Make-A-Wish NJ
Cole Schotz earlier this year held its 17th annual "Willie Uscher Memorial Charity Softball Game" with the Hackensack law firm the Willie Uscher All Stars in a game that honors the memory of Hackensack attorney Willie Uscher. As a result of the Aug. 15 event, the law firm recently announced that a total of $3,817 was raised for the Make-A-Wish charity, allowing for the program's New Jersey chapter to grant a wish to a child facing medical hardship. Through the annual event, the firm's attorneys and Uscher's family and friends have the opportunity to spread his joy, and honor his courage and spirit, the firm said in its announcement. |
Florio Perrucci Sponsors Sustainable Jersey Luncheon
Florio Perrucci Steinhardt & Cappelli in Rochelle Park sponsored the Sustainable Jersey Luncheon, held Nov. 19 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City. Lester E. Taylor , co-chair of the education law group and chair of the development committee for the Sustainable Jersey board of trustees, presented Kevin Kavanaugh , vice president of development for RPM Development Group, with the 2019 "Sustainable Business Leadership Award." More than 400 attended, according to astatement by the firm, in which Taylor said, "Sustainability is not only the right thing to do, but it is the smart thing to do from a business perspective. It was my pleasure to recognize RPM Development Group's proven commitment to sustainability with the 2019 Sustainable Business Leadership Award." Taylor, a resident of East Orange, represents boards of education as general counsel, and handles special education, litigation, labor, employment, and workers' compensation matters. He served as mayor of East Orange from 2014-17. He currently serves on the boards of several organizations, including Three Doctors Foundation and the United Way of Essex and West Hudson Counties. |
Capehart Collects for Holiday Food Drive
Attorneys and staff at Capehart Scatchard in Mount Laurel collected food and money donations for youth and families in need served by Legacy Treatment Services. During the month of November, the donations were collected at the law firm to benefit the nonprofit organization's annual holiday food drive, according to an announcement. Legacy Treatment Services is a human service agency dedicated to improving the lives of children, adults and families struggling with behavioral health and developmental challenges. |
Laddey Clark Completes 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive
Laddey Clark & Ryan in Sparta hosted its third annual Thanksgiving food drive, to benefit the Sparta Ecumenical Church Food Pantry, on Nov. 26 at the Stop & Shop in Sparta. The drive is led by firm paralegal James Quiggle , and it collected seven carts of food and 15 frozen turkeys, as well as $550 in cash donations, according to a firm announcement. The drive is one of the "30 Acts of Kindness" the firm is performing to celebrate its 30 years, the announcement said. "Through the generous donations of people in our community, our goal is to help ensure that everyone can experience the warmth and love of the season," said Quiggle in a statement. Others from Laddey Clark conducting the food drive were: Karen Franko , Lana Segale , Katari Lowenstein , Erin Thompson , Travis Nunziato and Sheila Dolan . "Embedded in our mission at Laddey, Clark & Ryan is the responsibility we have to serve our community," said managing partner Thomas Ryan in a statement. "We are so fortunate to be able to contribute each year."
