Karol Corbin Walker joined Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck in Hackensack as a partner in the business, commercial and employment litigation practice. Walker has 30 years of experience, and was the first African American president of the New Jersey State Bar Association in 2003 and the first known African American woman to attain partner status at a major New Jersey law firm. She previously was a shareholder at LeClairRyan in Newark. Walker’s practice focuses on defense of employment discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation matters. In 2012, she was the first African American woman to serve as president of the National Conference of Bar Presidents, and in 2015, she became the first African American president of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey. Walker earned her B.A. with honors from New Jersey City University and her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. “I have known a number of the Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck attorneys in New Jersey for more than a decade,” said Walker in a statement. “The firm’s vision for growth in New Jersey and nationally resonated with me.
