Capehart Scatchard announced that a new partner, Primitivo J. Cruz, joined the regulatory and governmental affairs department in Trenton. Cruz advises clients on employment, administrative/regulatory, and complex litigation matters. His practice focuses counseling and litigation of issues involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, contractual breaches, and claims involving restrictive covenants and employee-recruitment practices. He received his law degree from Rutgers Law School, magna cum laude, and his B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University.  During law school, Cruz was selected a graduate fellow of Rutgers University’s Eagleton Institute of Politics, where he worked with the secretary’s representative for the Northeast region at the U.S. Department of Labor. He also served as the editor-in-chief for the Rutgers Law Journal. He is admitted in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Capehart Scatchard also welcomed Maria Dal Santo, who recently joined the workers’ compensation department as an associate in Mount Laurel. A Philadelphia resident, she represents insurance carriers and employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims at all stages of litigation. Dal Santo received her law degree from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and her B.S. degree in environmental science from Rutgers. She is admitted in New Jersey.

Katherine Nunziata joined Fox Rothschild’s Morristown office as an associate in the family law department. Nunziata centers on matrimonial and post-judgement litigation and mediation. She also has experience in employment discrimination law and has assisted investors with arbitration matters before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She was previously an associate at Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti in Morristown. She received her B.A. from the University of Richmond, magna cum laude (2012) and her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif (2015). During law school, she was comments editor for the Seton Hall Law Review. She served as a student advocate in Seton Hall’s Representation in Mediation Practicum at the Southern District of New York and the school’s Investor Advocacy Project. She was also a judicial intern to Passaic County Superior Court Judge Thomas F. Brogan.

Gebhardt & Kiefer in Clinton added associate Benedict F. Valliere. He will concentrate on civil litigation, primarily personal injury, municipal law, and insurance defense. Prior to joining Gebhardt & Kiefer, Valliere worked as an in-house trial attorney with two insurance companies, representing a diverse roster of clients. He has completed numerous trials in the Law Division and Special Civil Part of Superior Court. He graduated from Purdue University with a B.A. in political science in 2007, and received his J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in 2010. While at Villanova, he served as chairman of the Villanova Honor Board. He also received the Dorothy Day Public Service Award for significant pro bono service while a law student.

Graff, who focuses on real estate and litigation matters, earned a bachelor’s degree in business, summa cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and his law degree from the Fordham University School of Law. At Fordham, he was a recipient of a Fordham Merit Scholarship and served on the Fordham Environmental Law Review. He also served as a legal intern for Superior Court Judge Robert L. Polifroni in Hackensack. He is admitted in New York and New Jersey. Earlier in his career, Graff was the director of operations of Unicom, a Passaic telecom company.
