Attorneys for health care providers with state contracts argued before the New York Court of Appeals on Wednesday that once the state pays them for services rendered, it shouldn’t be able to tell them how to spend that money.
A decision in the case from the Court of Appeals, which is likely to come down next month, could place limits on how much control the state has over public funds when they are paid out to private companies.
