The Trump Organization has been given until July 5 to complete its privilege review of records of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney. The request for an extension was partially granted Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood of the Southern District of New York.

In a letter over the weekend the Trump Organization’s counsel private attorney Alan Futerfas said the company needed weeks of additional time past the hard deadline of June 27 set last week by Wood. Just days before setting the deadline at the end of last week, the Trump Organization received from Cohen’s team a substantial production of search term-responsive material from the documents seized by the government from Cohen in April. The 22,000 or so documents represented a production larger than any prior “by several orders of magnitude.”
