In a filing to U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood of the Southern District of New York Saturday, the Trump Organization asked for a deadline extension of more than two weeks to deal with what it says is the largest trove of documents yet handed over by Michael Cohen’s attorneys at McDermott Will & Emery.

In his letter to Wood, private attorney Alan Futerfas, who represents the Trump business entities, said that on Wednesday they received a new batch of materials from Cohen’s team that contained approximately 22,000 documents responsive to search terms provided to McDermott. It was the largest production received by the Trump Organization in the process “by several orders of magnitude,” according to Futerfas. He said that reviewing the material and designating items as privileged would take several weeks.
