New York City's top prosecutors decried the Bloomberg administration's plans to cut their discretionary spending by as much as 8 percent at a hearing yesterday before the City Council's public safety committee. Manhattan District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau called the potential cuts "a disaster for all of the city's district attorneys." Bronx District Attorney Robert T. Johnson said the cuts "make no sense" and create a "grave situation" in a matter of utmost concern - public safety.
