Southern District Bankruptcy Judge Adlai Hardin Jr., in a lengthy opinion carefully weighing opposing factors, expressed misgivings against hastily disqualifying a law firm. In this case, though, he said disqualification was appropriate, finding that because Proskauer represented the debtor in transactions now at the heart of a claim filed by plaintiffs, the firm could not represent defendants who were involved in those transactions.
