In a deal valued at about .5 billion, Armonk, N.Y.-based computer manufacturing giant International Business Machines Corp. announced last week that it had agreed to acquire PwC Consulting, the global business consulting and technology services unit of New York-based accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
