The Advisory Committee on Criminal Rules has engaged in a lengthy project to restylize the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure. The committee took the occasion of restyling to also propose a number of substantive amendments to the rules.
One substantive proposal was an amendment to Fed.R.Crim.P. 26, which currently provides that all testimony must be taken in open court. The amendment would provide for two-way video transmission of testimony from a remote location.
