WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a speech prepared for delivery this afternoon, Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye is expected to applaud the efforts of the legal profession in dealing with the aftermath of Sept. 11, and urge attorneys to adhere to the pro bono commitment exhibited after the attacks to “keep that spirit alive.”
The Chief Judge is slated to deliver the luncheon address today at the District of Columbia Judicial & Bar Conference in Washington, D.C. She planned to tell the conference that while the legal needs resulting from Sept. 11 were perhaps more dramatic, they are similar to the daily needs of the citizenry, and attorneys must hear their cry for help as clearly as they heard the victims of those terrorist attacks.
