SOUTHERN District U.S. Attorney James B. Comey said yesterday that an increase in staffing for terrorism-related investigations and prosecutions gives him all the people he needs to have his office functioning at full speed.

Mr. Comey, at a breakfast speech at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, said that funding has been added for 15 new prosecutors on his staff – and the new hires will be devoted to the ongoing investigation of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He also said that among other priorities he has for the office are the prosecution of child pornography, drugs and illegal gun possession.
