MINEOLA – The Whitney family estate now owned by a nonprofit civic organization is not eligible for a property tax exemption, a judge has ruled.
Nassau Supreme Court Justice Ira B. Warshawsky found that the 60-room mansion situated on 420 acres in Manhasset did not meet the criteria under Real Property Tax Law to qualify for tax exempt status.
