We could all use a mentor, cheerleader, guide, teacher, a big brother or sister to help open the door to great success. So how should a company lawyer go about finding the right, and willing, guru in the workplace?
First, think about what you really want from such a relationship. Is it really a teacher you seek? Role model? Trouble shooter? Ally? Sponsor? Publicist? Career counselor? The answer depends on your personality as well as where you are in your career. And keep in mind: Chances are, no one person can meet all your needs.
