Practice Profile: Faiza Rahman practices in Weil’s capital markets group, advising issuers, private equity sponsors and underwriters on an array of sophisticated transactions, including major IPOs, investment grade and high yield debt offerings and tender and exchange offers.

Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: Faiza is a committed pro bono advocate and is a member of the firm’s pro bono committee. She has worked—in conjunction with the Asian American Legal Defense & Education Fund and Muslim Advocates—on a firm pro bono matter in which she helped employ the New York State Freedom of Information Law to procure information on unlawful surveillance practices by the “demographics unit” of the NYPD.

Faiza is also the primary partner contact with the International Rescue Committee and has assisted in sourcing matters from IRC as well as working on reviews and updates to the organization’s internal policies.

Faiza has emerged as a leading voice for diversity and inclusion at Weil and across the legal industry. She is a key member of AsianAttorneys@Weil and is also a partner in the Pan-Affinity Group Council, a 40-attorney body that promotes collaboration across the firm’s various affinity groups and benchmarks diversity initiatives. In addition, Faiza is a member of the Muslim Bar Association of New York and is a member of an informal group of law firm partners focused on inclusion, social justice and upholding civil rights.
