Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam (Tim Roske)
I appreciated the article concerning Court of Appeals Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam’s impact on the commercial bar (NYLJ, April 17). I think in some ways this was even a greater loss to the relatively small cooperative and condominium bar. There is nothing like the security of having an accomplished fair-minded expert in your field on the Court of Appeals when so many people have trouble understanding the issues that affect cooperatives and condominiums. The loss is especially devastating because some of us knew her on a first-name basis from the time she worked in the New York Attorney General’s office and understood how impressive she was.
