S&P Global has named Steve Kemps as its new general counsel and executive vice president.
Kemps will oversee the legal operations and advise on the impact of changing laws, the New York-based ratings company announced Tuesday.
He steps into the role four months after McGraw Hill Financial was rebranded as S&P Global and nearly one year after former GC Lucy Fato left the company. David Goldenberg, who served as the acting GC and acting CLO since October 2015, was named executive managing director and CLO of S&P Global this month, according to LinkedIn.
Most recently, Kemps was the EVP and GC of engineering and construction company Quanta Services in Houston. Prior to working for Quanta, Kemps served as GC of Hess Retail Corp. and Dean Foods Co.
Kemps also worked as an attorney with Kimberly-Clark Corp. and at Dorsey & Whitney.
