A $5 million arbitration award to a partner denied his 40 percent share of the partnership’s value when his former law firm dissolved and reformed without him, has been affirmed by an appellate court.
The partners at Sanford Wittels & Heisler disbanded the firm in 2012, shortly after filing a disciplinary complaint against Steven Wittels, and invoking the “faithless servant doctrine” to refuse payment to him.
