Despite being delinquent in paying his biennial registration fee, an attorney for the plaintiff in an uncontested divorce is not barred from practice, a Manhattan Supreme Court special referee ruled.
Referee Jeffrey Helewitz wrote that papers filed in the divorce, AK v. HKYL, were initially found defective and Helewitz found out about the attorney’s delinquency while reviewing the file.
