A Manhattan attorney who admitted to stealing more than $285,000 worth of escrow funds from his client has resigned.

According to a decision by a panel of the Appellate Division, First Department, in Matter of Abelow, 2015 NY Slip Op 08638, Ross Abelow deposited $607,257 of the sale proceeds from an apartment jointly owned by his client into an Interest on Lawyer Account that Abelow maintained at J.P. Morgan Chase.
