A town justice in Ontario County has been recommended for censure for issuing eviction warrants against two tenants without affording them the right to respond in court, the state Commission on Judicial Conduct announced.
The commission said Manchester Town Court Justice Edwin Williams failed to ensure tenants received the protections under the Real Property Law and the Real Property Actions and Proceedings Law in evictions over which he presided between October 2012 and May 2013.
