The jury deliberating the fate of former leaders of Dewey & LeBoeuf did not reach a verdict Wednesday, but in a possible sign of progress, they asked Acting Supreme Count Justice Robert Stolz to reread the elements of the conspiracy charge.

It’s the fourth of five charges the panel of seven women and five men has asked to hear as they decide the fate of former Dewey chair Steven Davis, former executive director Stephen DiCarmine and former chief financial officer Joel Sanders. The three have been accused by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office of orchestrating a scheme to alter the firm’s records to make its finances appear healthier to lenders and investors.
