The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s interest in seeking civil forfeiture in a nearly $2 million scam against StubHub users outweighs the hardship of two defendants who say they would be unable to retain the lawyers of their choice, a judge decided.

Supreme Court Justice Martin Shulman granted prosecutors’ motion to show cause that the defendants’ assets may be attached in anticipation of their forfeiture, despite arguments that the money was earned legitimately and the defendants need some of it to pay their attorneys.
