A Manhattan judge has dismissed Alphonse “Buddy” Fletcher’s discrimination suit against the board of directors of The Dakota, the famed Upper West Side co-op.
Fletcher, founder of the now-bankrupt hedge fund Fletcher Asset Management, claimed the board was motivated by racial animus when it denied him consent in 2010 to buy an apartment adjacent to his three-bedroom unit purchased in 1992.
