ESTATE OF MITCHELL KAUFMAN, Deceased (11/3071/A) — On the return date of the supplemental citation served upon an alleged maternal uncle in this proceeding to judicially settle the account of the Public Administrator, the alleged maternal uncle defaulted. The court previously rendered a decision determining the decedent’s paternal distributees and directed the remaining half of the estate proceeds to be deposited with the Commissioner of Finance (see Matter of Kaufman, NYLJ, Aug. 19, 2014, at 22, col 5). Accordingly, a decree approving the account, as amended, is to be settled in this estate providing for the proposed distributions in accordance with the prior decision.

During the pendency of this proceeding, the guardian ad litem appointed for unknown distributees in this estate requested that an accounting be filed for the estate of the decedent’s predeceased mother. The decedent is the mother’s sole distributee. The petitioner, in his capacity as administrator of the mother’s estate, served an informal account in that estate, and all of the appearing parties herein consented thereto, including the guardian ad litem. The parties may proceed to decree in that proceeding, if appropriate.
