In a hard-fought case over claims made by Cablevision and Verizon while advertising their Internet services, a magistrate judge has temporarily blocked Cablevision from accusing Verizon of dishonesty.

Eastern District Magistrate Judge Gary Brown issued the 14-day temporary restraining order on Cablevision for its so-called “liar campaign”—a set of print, online and broadcast advertisements with characters such Pinnochio and a Verizon representative with pants ablaze.
