The estate of a rent-stabilized tenant can move forward with a malpractice claim against the lawyer for a tenants association accused of not notifying the estate that it could share in buyout proceeds, the Appellate Division, First Department, said Thursday.
The estate says it was entitled to a share of the money a developer paid to buy out a group of 18 tenants so it could demolish the Central Park South apartment building.
