A state appellate court presiding over a disciplinary action against Ivan Fisher has suspended him from practice on the grounds that his current health made him unable to assist counsel in preparing his defense.

The Appellate Division, First Department, granted Fisher’s medical suspension request on Thursday and paused the First Department Disciplinary Committee’s bid for reciprocal discipline based on a 2013 disbarment from the Southern District. Fisher’s application in Matter of Fisher, M-310, noted “various ailments, and references surgeries and treatments.”
