Brooklyn, not Texas, is the correct venue, for now at least, for a lawsuit brought by an asylum seeker who claims she was mistreated by Border Patrol officers while entering the U.S. illegally.
The Eastern District U.S. Attorney’s Office requested to move Alba Quiñonez Flores’ case to the Southern District of Texas as the appropriate venue. Flores, who resides within the Eastern District, opposed the request.
