Nassau County defendants won’t bear any of the cost of settling for $1.3 million a lawsuit alleging a “pay to prosecute” scheme, court documents say.
Attorney Robert Del Col of Smithtown and his client, Leftheris Doukas, filed a 2011 civil rights action against then Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice and other individuals in her office along with DataTreasury, a patent holder of remote check processing technology, and several of its officials.
