The continued detention of a lawful permanent resident who is challenging his removal from the United States for an old drug charge violates due process, a federal judge has ruled.
Southern District Judge John Koeltl said Dean Gordon, in custody since immigration agents arrested him in June 2014, should be released or given a bond hearing while contesting a removal order from an immigration judge.
