A man has lost his bid to terminate his conspiracy conviction based on the argument that drug law reforms made his drug-related sentences subject to an early end.

Eduardo Baez was convicted in 1993 of second-degree conspiracy and two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree. He was given an 8- to 25-year sentence on the conspiracy count, which ran concurrently with the consecutive terms of 4 1/2 years to life and 8 years to life on the drug sale convictions.
