The head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s flood insurance program, Brad Kieserman, admitted on “60 Minutes” Sunday that he has seen evidence of fraudulent reports relating to homes damaged by Hurricane Sandy. FEMA officials were alerted to problems as early as 2013, he said.

On Nov. 7, Eastern District Magistrate Judge Gary Brown (See Profile) found that U.S. Forensic, an engineering firm for a flood insurance carrier, “secretly rewrote” a draft report on damage to a Long Beach home, attributing defects to long-term deterioration instead of damage from the storm.
