A federal prosecutor told a jury Wednesday that “overwhelming evidence” supports the conviction of Khalid al Fawwaz on the murderous al Qaida conspiracies led by Osama bin Laden.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean Buckley said during closing arguments that testimony, physical evidence and intercepts presented by the government in the last three weeks of trial in the Southern District showed Fawwaz to be a key figure in training al Qaida fighters who also used his base in London for the “dissemination of al Qaida’s public pronouncement of terror,” including bin Laden’s fatwas calling for the killing of American military and civilians wherever they could be found.
