A movie set dresser who was injured during production of the 2011 film “New Year’s Eve” in Brooklyn made a prima facie showing that a warehouse owner violated state law by not providing him with better protection from falling, a judge determined.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Francois Rivera (See Profile) decided in Canfield v. Forman Jay, 13512/12, that Scott Canfield was entitled to judgment as a matter of law under state Labor Law §240(1) against Forman Jay LLC, owner of the warehouse at 51 Jay St., where part of the movie was filmed.
