The Managing Attorneys and Clerks Association Inc. has elected Maura McLoughlin, the managing attorney with Cahill Gordon & Reindel, as the association’s next president. The group’s board also elected Ira Wiener, of Shearman & Sterling, as vice president; Timothy Beeken, of Debevoise & Plimpton, as treasurer; and John Bové, of Dickstein Shapiro, as secretary.
Joseph Moreno, special counsel at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, has been appointed as a consultant to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s newly-formed 9/11 Review Commission. He will assist the commission in its mandate to evaluate the FBI’s performance in addressing the threat of domestic and international terrorism.
JAMS neutral Ariel Belen, formerly an associate justice of the Appellate Division, Second Department, has received the 2014 Kobak Award in his role as chair of the New York County Lawyers’ Association ADR Committee. Belen and the ADR Committee are being recognized for revitalizing the discussion of ADR within and outside of NYCLA.
Blank Rome partner Martin Luskin has been elected chairman of the Professional & Leadership Division of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Luskin is a longtime member of the division, formerly known as the Men’s Division, which provides a source of lay leadership and philanthropy at Einstein.
