Vernon S. Broderick, a former litigation partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and former Assistant U.S. Attorney, was inducted as a Southern District judge at the Thurgood Marshall Courthouse on Friday. About 250 attended the ceremony, including U.S. Sen. Charles E. Schumer, who nominated Broderick, and former New York City Mayor David Dinkins. Assisting Broderick is his mother, Mercedes Broderick, and Eric Timberman, acting U.S. Marshal for the Southern District.
