• Yvan-Claude Pierre, a Reed Smith partner, has been appointed practice group leader of 145-attorney Reed Smith’s U.S. corporate and securities group. Pierre is head of the firm’s U.S. Capital Markets Group. The former practice group leader was Philadephia-based partner Paul Jaskot.

Goldberg Segalla has hired Jeffrey Migdalen as special counsel in its Garden City office. He is a member of the firm’s general liability practice group. Previously, he was an associate with Rivkin Radler in Uniondale.

Nixon Peabody has added Bradley Mirkin as counsel in its government investigations and white-collar defense practice. He was former senior litigation counsel at FINRA Enforcement.

• Greg Kramer has rejoined Haynes and Boone as a partner in its capital markets and securities practice group. He was a partner at Kleinberg, Kaplan, Wolff & Cohen.

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has added Catherine Leef Martin as special counsel in its alternative investments practice, providing regulatory advice in finance and capital markets transactions. She was previously counsel at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Debevoise & Plimpton has promoted to partner Jonathan Adler, corporate and investment management; Andrew Ahern, corporate and investment management; Michael Bolotin, tax; Alexander Cochran, corporate and financial institutions; Courtney Dankworth, litigation; Natalie Reid, lititgation; and Edward Rishty, corporate and real estate. They are partners effective July 1.
