A judge is letting a 73-year-old Queens English teacher who is the oldest, highest-paid and most senior-ranking member of the English Department proceed with her age discrimination case.
Eastern District Judge Jack Weinstein (See Profile) made the ruling after holding a pre-discovery “mini-trial” during a hearing on a city’s dismissal motion, where the “fiercely proud” teacher aired her complaints and an assistant principal who was “passionately trying to provide a superior education in a school viewed by many as failing” defended her actions, the judge said.
