A Queens attorney has been disbarred after acknowledging he could not successfully defend himself in professional misconduct complaints. The Appellate Division, Second Department disbarred Jerome Plotner on Wednesday following his resignation.
The grievance committee was investigating two complaints against Plotner—one being a client’s complaint that he “mishandled a lawsuit” and the other a sua sponte probe after a check bounced from Plotner’s attorney trust account.
Plotner graduated from Columbia Law School and was admitted to the bar in 1953.
Presiding Justice Randall Eng (See Profile) and Justices Reinaldo Rivera (See Profile), Peter Skelos (See Profile), Mark Dillon (See Profile) and Sandra Sgroi (See Profile) decided Matter of Plotner, 2014-01316. The decision appears on page 6 of the print edition.
