The state Board of Elections has concluded that New York state’s $150,000 limit on campaign contributions by individuals cannot be enforced due to recent federal court decisions.

John Conklin, a spokesman for the four-member board—two Republicans and two Democrats—said the panel’s determination last week means that individuals or limited liability corporations are not bound by the ceiling on total annual contributions that are contained in state Election Law §§14-114(8) and 14-126.
