Veteran federal prosecutor Marc Berger is moving into the private sector, joining Ropes & Gray’s government enforcement practice in New York as a partner in July.

Berger, 39, chief of the Southern District U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Securities and Commodities Task Force, has played a major role in an unprecedented crackdown on insider trading, supervising a number of high-profile cases including the recent charges against four SAC Capital Management Companies and the trial of Galleon Group hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam.
