The Irish American Bar Association of New York presented the Fourth Annual Thomas Jefferson Memorial “Wine Geese” Wine Tasting Wednesday at the residence of Noel Kilkenny, the Consul General of Ireland. “Wild Geese” was a term for Irish migrants who fought in European armies in the 17th and 18th centuries, while “winegeese” referred to Irish emigrants and their descendants who took up the wine trade in their adopted countries.
