A suspended Manhattan attorney has admitted to stealing more than $50,000 in client settlement funds, as well as perjuring himself and offering fake evidence in disciplinary proceedings.

Stephen C. Jackson pleaded guilty yesterday in Manhattan Supreme Court to second-degree grand larceny, first-degree perjury and tampering with physical evidence. Jackson accepted an offer from Acting Supreme Court Justice Robert Stolz to plead guilty in exchange for a one- to three-year sentence. Prosecutors had pressed for a two- to six-year sentence.
