Supreme Court Justices David Elliot and Jerry Garguilo have been named to the Appellate Term, Second Department.
Elliott, a justice in Queens since 2004, will hear appeals from criminal and civil courts in the Second, Eleventh and Thirteenth judicial districts. He will replace Jaime Rios, who retired at the end of 2013.
Garguilo will hear appeals from district and town and village courts in the Ninth and Tenth judicial districts. He has been a justice in Suffolk County since 2009.
Garguilo will replace Hector LaSalle, who has been named to the Appellate Division, Second Department, by Governor Andrew Cuomo (NYLJ, Jan. 21).
The Appellate Term appointments were announced by Chief Administrative Judge A. Gail Prudenti.
