A shareholder of the Lower East Side’s East River Housing complex must pay more than $30,000 in attorney fees after losing a suit over a dog he kept against the complex’s rules.

Housing Court Judge Jack Stoller (See Profile) ruled on Dec. 30 in East River Housing v. Gilbert, 52689/12, that even though shareholder Steven Gilbert had gotten rid of the dog, he could still be liable for the co-op’s costs.
