A disbarred Long Island attorney has pleaded guilty to stealing $10,000 from a couple he was representing in real estate transactions. Nathan Levner pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny, a D felony, on Nov. 13 before Nassau County Court Judge Tammy Robbins (See Profile), who offered to sentence him to five years probation for the plea. Levner, 54, of Oceanside, is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 15.

In the underlying case, Levner represented a couple in July 2011 as they sold their old home and purchased a new one. The couple put $10,000 in Levner’s escrow account, which was to be released once they vacated the premises. But in the time between the deposit and the new purchase, Levner failed to return the couple’s phone calls.
