Attorney Steven Sladkus and his firm, Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz, have been disqualified from representing a Brooklyn condominium board suing the condo’s developer over alleged construction defects, after a state judge found Sladkus’ previous work for the developer in similar cases created a conflict of interest.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Carolyn Demarest (See Profile) ruled last Thursday in Board of Managers v. McCaren Park Mews, 14165/12, that even though Sladkus claimed his involvement in the earlier cases was minimal, the existence of a previous attorney-client relationship with the defendant was enough to disqualify him.
